  • Wiki space owners may not allow anonymous comment permission to any wiki space on the server.

  • Wiki space owners must maintain an active awareness any changes to a wiki space that allows members of UCL to edit or comment on pages (by applying the settings 'Watch a space' or 'Subscribe to daily updates').

Some Examples (all refer to the 'Edit Permissions' function on the Permissions page)

Permissions are controlled via the Permissions page. This page is available only to those with space administrator privileges in the space. Navigate to the Permissions page:
Browse > Space Admin > Permissions

If you want to give access to an individual person with UCL username:

  • Under 'Individual Users', give a UCL userid view (or better) permissions.

If you want to restrict your site to the  whole UCL community:

  • Give 'view' (or better) permission to the whole UCL community by adding the group "ucl-all"
  • Do not give any permissions to 'Anonymous' or 'confluence-users' (note that 'confluence users' is empty and not relevant to your set up)

If you want to restrict your site to a specific UCL group (or groups):

  • Visit the Intranet Group page to choose your group
  • Give 'view' (or better) permission to the chosen UCL group(s)
  • Do not give any permissions to 'Anonymous' or 'ucl-all' (note that 'confluence users' is empty and not relevant to your set up)

If you want your site to be viewable by anyone in the world:

  • Give 'view' permission to 'Anonymous'
  • Give 'view' (or better) permission to the group 'ucl-all'
  • Do not give Create or Comment permissions to 'Anonymous' users.

Quick Tip

The group "ucl-all" gives access to the whole UCL community
The group "confluence-users" is empty and not relevant in our setup.
UCL groups, usually called "Intranet Groups", are defined here: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/upi/web-users/intranet-groups/
