1. Stock move - English and German collections

Refurbishment of Main Library

Substantial refurbishment work is planned for summer 2010 at the north junction of the Main Library. To avoid disruption in term-time and in the
Easter vacation, the English and German collections were re-located during the Xmas vacation. Until the building work starts, reader places
will continue to be available in the area cleared of stock. The empty bookcases will be removed during the Spring term, so that survey work can be completed.

German books and unbound periodicals are re-located within the Main Library. The whole of the English collection (books and periodicals) and bound German periodicals are in a temporary site library, 'RockLib' in the Thomas Lewis Room, Rockefeller Building, 21 University Street. A staffed desk service, reader places and catalogue terminal are available. Readers may return books to RockLib or to the Main Library, from where the Attendants will collect them daily. Opening hours are on the Library website. RockLib will not be open 24 hours in the pre-exam period. There is no photocopier on site, but readers may borrow reference material to take to another library for the purpose, as long as they return the material to RockLib the same day. The nearest photocopier is in the Cruciform Library.
