UCL settings for PubMed

To see links in PubMed, and to check whether UCL has access to the full text of articles in PubMed, access PubMed using the special URL http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed?otool=iukucllib, or via the entry for PubMed in MetaLib or the databases list.

Alternatively, you can create or modify a MyNCBI account in PubMed with UCL preferences:

  • Sign in to MyNCBI (or register as a new user).
  • Select NCBI Site Preferences at the top right.
  • Under PubMed Preferences, click on Outside Tool.
  • Click the radio button next to UCL (University College London) – SFX, then Save.

You will see links at the top right of the abstract screen in every PubMed record, enabling you to link to the full-text where it is available, or to search for the print version in UCL Library and elsewhere.

Please note that there is now no longer an option for a UCL filter, and you should clear any UCL filter that you have set up in the past. There is more information about this on the eresources blog.
